On my own in Tokyo
I arrived in an unkind city
Flooded out by a wave of people through the station gate
Somehow, the unfamiliar scent of the surrounding people
Brings up nostalgic memories
It’s revived
The station-front fast-food restaurant
Freshly cooked fries, how lucky
Walking down the slowly descending slope
The sound of the railway crossing feels far away
Even so, I’ll keep moving on without looking back
Are you ready? Let’s go! When I knock down the heavy door
It feels like I’m changing
The sound of the guitar flares up
There’s a young flame burning inside me
As overlapping voices reach my ears
I no longer feel alone
It seems to be a little kinder, this Tokyo
A lonely Tokyo
Everyone is on their own
So I once again want to connect with another
It doesn’t matter how; I’ll be happy as long as we do something I enjoy
A universal form of communication surely exists
Hey, um! What’s up? There’s a dream I can’t talk about
But, one day, if you were to ask
Then maybe if it’s you…
The sound of the guitar becomes distorted
There’s a young flame burning inside me
I’ll immediately pass on these overlapping voices
So you no longer feel alone
Just wait a bit longer, Tokyo
The sunset over the buildings stretches towards the sky of the big city
Start running, open your eyes
Take the shadows with you
You’re not alone
The sound of the guitar flares up
There’s a young flame burning inside me
As overlapping voices reach my ears
I no longer feel alone
It seems to be a little kinder, this Tokyo
Everyone is alone in Tokyo
