The skylark still unable to fly.

Seeds of sunlight, faint dreams, accompanied by a song until they can take flight
Towards the distant gap in the sky, unaware of the name of May’s flowers for now

A voice calling out with long shadows
a night when time stood still and we looked at the stars
Words exchanged before sleep, things I don’t want to lose

Small and childish, it was always
Crying, wanting you by its side

sinking into warmth
Huddling in the cold of a passing shower, unable to start walking
