Days with no substitute turn my oaths to lies,
And by the time I notice, I’m at a standstill, breaking- eliminating-
What kinds of things do I like anyway?
Relying on a certain truth, I rebuild, not learning my lesson,
In an impulsive moment.
I was suspicious of a far too blue sky,
Bridging the reality and dreams before my eyes:
An echo that sounded out further than my expectations.
The scenes I’d seen yesterday intersected with twisted memories,
And by the time I noticed, it was morning – no clue where I even was.
Following a draft of wind that snuck through, relying on the sound of water I heard,
The narrow cave I found was housed by the slightest crack.
I was suspicious of a far too blue sky,
Bridging the reality and dreams before my eyes:
An echo that sounded out further than my expectations.
I pulled tight that far too thin string,
Connecting the reality I saw / a dream:
An echo that sounded out aimlessly, defying my design.
The feeling of the earth I tread upon…
The smell of the dried air…
Not a thing has changed,
Behind my eyelids.
I was suspicious of a far too blue sky,
Bridging the reality and dreams before my eyes:
An echo that sounded out further than my expectations.
Again, I cursed that far too blue sky,
Losing track each time I reeled it in:
An echo that sounds again today… in just the way you predicted.
