The wind that blew fiercely, a postcard for a missing child,
a dove that couldn’t take flight, completely untouched crayons,
the words I couldn’t say, the one step forward I couldn’t take,
and a past that won’t… won’t disappear

While understanding what we couldn’t come to understand about each other
we should all just walk on, going our own separate ways
Even those words that cleanly gloss everything over are finger-smudged
