Just how much time has passed since we arrived here that day?
We donned unfamiliar garments, forming rows in this vast classroom
Sunshowers wet the white arches leading to the riverside in march
The morning of our departure feels a bit colder than it did that day, the blackboards bustling with activity
Whenenever I freeze from hesitation, I tightly grasp the words you gave to me
Now, this scenery begins to fade
Even as I try to burn it into my memory forever
Each time I blink a bit more spills out
I never realized, but you fought with me that day out of kindness
Oh, the tears I cried…
Gathering only a thick album in my arms, I’ll leave this room
The only way to leave nothing behind, is to come back for some things again and again
You’re like a blowing wind, just beyond my grasp. I still can’t reach you to this day
Now, this scenery begins to fade
Even as I try to burn it into my memory forever
Each time I blink a bit more spills out
I never realized, but you fought with me that day out of kindness
Oh, the tears I cried…
You were always by my side as we played around,
But you looked downward then, shoulders trembling, and whispered, “Let’s meet again someday”
It would take us much longer to realize that graduation didn’t mean goodbye
But until that day we’ll take our separate paths
We’ll be walking… stumbling… looking back (looking back)
Until the day we’ll surely, surely (surely) meet again
