I want to tell everyone… about your wonderful Original!
The whole class is bustling,
But everyone puts on a fake smile to keep from being left out.
Your eyes alone conveyed a competitive spirit
As you bit your lip forcefully.
You once said,
“I wouldn’t want to worry what someone thinks
And end up hurting someone else in the process!”
When the chime rings out and the rain lifts up,
We’ll pass the boundaries of our school!
Jumping through the puddles, light will scatter about.
The trail left by our smiles is so bright!
I want to tell everyone… about your wonderful Original!
Looking up at the same sky, we each pick out different stars.
Then with the weirdest timing,
We say, “I thought that was the one!”
We laugh, pointing excitedly together.
Despite always being so positive, you said,
“I actually don’t know anything
About who I really am…”
When the chime rings out and the rain lifts up,
Let’s play catch in the courtyard!
Receiving each others’ concerns,
Let’s throw each one back at a new angle!
Our excited voices reflect the rays of the sun!
Big eyes that can never tell a lie…
Shoelaces you always tie vertically…
Laughing wholeheartedly… crying in secret…
They’re all treasures that only you carry!
You once told me as well
That I have my very own Original.
Those words you said, back when I was trembling,
Gave me the push forward I needed!
Once the chime announces a ringing future,
Even if the roads we proceed down are different,
Whenever we’re concerned, let’s look up to our different skies
And pick out the same stars!
When I think about tomorrow, my heartbeat races!
I want to tell everyone… about your wonderful Original!
