Things don’t always go the way I want them to, I can’t stop the self-loathing
I’m looking for a place to escape from 8 million pains and sorrows
I’ll retreat to a rocky crevice and sleep, ignoring the moon and the sun
I don’t know what it means to be born. I don’t know
But the fact that you can think like that
It’s telling you that you have the power to be something more
Yes. we’re at God’s mercy. Just as decreed, everybody loves the earth
Drinking, singing, boisterous revelry… that’s good too, every once in a while
Yes. whether north, south, right, or left, we all love the earth
I’m a muddy mess, but I can walk on, and I’ve got a long way to go
I just want to be the righteous one, though I’m sure everyone wants to be that way
But every day I’m tormented by the ugliness of eight million hearts
It sounds good to say, “It’s a miracle we were born”
But I’m sure it’s just a coincidence. There’s no meaning to it after all
But if someone ever tries to tease you
That just proves you’re a wonderful person
Yes, we’re at God’s mercy. Just as decreed, everyone loves the earth
If I laugh and you laugh, nothing is unforgivable
Yes, men and women must love each other, that’s how the earth spins
I’m a muddy mess, but I can walk on, and I’ve got a long way to go
What’s really important sometimes hides in the trivial things
Sometimes we make a fool of ourselves, dance naked, and laugh a lot
Yes, we’re at God’s mercy. Just as decreed, you can love yourself more and more
Look in the mirror. Can’t you see it? It’s a light that shines on everyone
Yes, we’re at God’s mercy. Thank you all, I really do love the earth
Let’s make a flower bloom, a big flower, tall enough to reach the heavens!
