With silent eyes,
You smile, looking up to the sky.
Your fingers are frozen,
As crookedly dancing snow
Stains you in red.
“Letting things end as they are now
Is the last bit of your broken kindness…” I laugh.
Leaning heavily upon a sigh,
You show off the knife in your back, as if it were your wings.
Then you hold me tight.
Unconquerable pain is our destiny.
The Inheritance of Sin.
Huddling close to the moonlight,
I scream in agony at this recurring sin.
Your eyes open and I realize once I see your tears…
You’re longing for someone to put an end to your life.
“Dreams that will never come true hold no meaning…” you declare,
Softly tracing my crumbling cheeks with your finger.
No matter how many words I could attempt to say,
I can no longer reach your collapsing heart.
A melody of red tears.
The solitude of a moonlit night.
“If you don’t want it taken from you, don’t avert your eyes,” you say,
Smiling at me as I cry.
“Bear this unforgivable sin, along with its punishment, and fly…
As far as you possibly can…”
-Is ending things by my own hands
The last thing I can do?-
The tears that fell as you looked tenderly to the night sky
Are already so, so cold.
I gaze upon you as you sleep.
The Inheritance of Sin.
