The peak of summer left us, as declared by the weather reporter,
But even so, I feel the city hasn’t really settled down.
The chime that rings at 5pm somehow resonates with my heart today,
Clouding my judgement with the convenient excuse known as Fate.
The last fireworks of the year have already happened.
No matter how many years pass, I’ll always end up remembering…
Will there be another chance? Probably not… I’m sure you’re nowhere to be found.
Could I manage to say it if I saw you? When I close my eyes, I can see you there.
Learning of what this world promises, I answered its call, then returned here.
Another streetlight comes on as I make my way home, so I pick up my pace,
Suddenly wishing to reclaim the continuation of that dream put on pause.
The last fireworks of the year have already happened.
No matter how many years pass, I’ll always end up remembering…
Will there be another chance? Probably not… I’m sure you’re nowhere to be found.
Could I manage to say it if I saw you? When I close my eyes, I can see you there.
With my knees still scraped up, I slowly begin to walk…
The last fireworks of the year have already happened.
No matter how many years pass, I’ll always end up remembering…
Will there be another chance? Probably not… I couldn’t help but wonder.
But it’s so, so hopeless – I can’t even decide what to say!
When the very last fireworks come to an end,
I wonder if something will change between us… we’re looking up at the same sky!
