Closing my book while halfway through the page,
The BOOKMARK I used was a faint memory.
Yes, on that day I found the light!

At some point along the way,
My heart was no longer alone.
Your heart pulled mine out of the darkness!

Ahh, like stars dancing in the sky,
The future began to shine bright.
I’d somehow lost sight of it before,
When I was focused entirely on myself.

I still sometimes remember.
I feel sorry for myself and it hurts.
But I’m now someone who can protect someone else.
I can stand proud and someday believe:
“I’m so glad I met you that day!”

Since that day, my heart
Has been saved by you again and again.
With your dazzlingly bright smile and the warmth it brings.

Ahh, in the starry sky I look upon,
There exist countless memories.
I’m not alone anymore, am I?
When I close my eyes, you’re smiling there.

No matter how far apart we are,
Even if we can’t meet,
Your memory won’t fade!
You’re always in my heart.
It provides a constant brightness.
“I’m so glad I met you that day!”

It’ll be alright! I won’t fear tomorrow.
I’ll face toward the future I imagined
And turn the page.

Though you appear so strong, I’m sure there are times you want to cry.
But keep smiling anyway!
We always realize such important things after the fact.
