The colors surrounding you, so different from other people,
Exhibited the vaguest smile – I had to avert my eyes.
I’d made a rule for myself, saying it’s okay to tell white lies –
But you had seen right through me…
… and I was seeing right through the fact you’d seen right through me.
I don’t want to hurt you, but I do want to get to know you better;
The truth is always hidden deep within our eyes.
I don’t want to get hurt, but I do want you to learn more about me.
Youth isn’t a tragedy… so look me in the eyes!
A school of fish swished on by… I can’t keep living like this –
I’d been judging everything from the basis of beauty.
What are you thinking with that mysterious look on your face?
A marble begins to roll –
I have no idea where it may go… but it shined so bright!
Scooping up that shallow water, I hold it up to the light;
My most real emotions were clear all along.
Prone to living in dreams, we had never bothered to doubt…
We believed indefinitely in our youth, never looking to the sea.
So close to being broken… to breaking one another – The reason we hate saying goodbye so much
Is because we don’t know any other way than causing pain.
We both thought the same thing, at the same time:
We had actually been kinda compatible.
I’ve managed to tell you everything now,
So: Youth isn’t a tragedy –
After all, it was so beautiful.
It may only be my opinion,
But it shined so bright.
