Oooh, watching wild skies,
Wishing with closed eyes
Oooh, run for a lifetime
And follow the signs
I put my pictures down,
they’re not as good as the real thing
“I wish I could go home”
You’re just nostalgic
What do we wander from and only notice it now?
So be here with me
And I watched the water unfold
It’s a feeling I want you know
’Cus i’m not the same as I was
As i shoulder the weight of the world
I was setting in stone until I noticed it right
Do you see how you’ve grown?
Don’t be sorry, then
And I fall from my bones
And now I know I’m alive
i want you to find it
And i watched the water unfold
It’s a feeling I want you know
’Cus I’m not the same as I was
As i shoulder the weight of the world
Thaw your hands now
Put color in your cheeks
I missed you back then
So be here with me
and I watched the water unfold
it’s a feeling I want you know
And I watched the water unfold
it’s a feeling I want you know
’Cus I’m not the same as I was
As I shoulder the weight of the world
’Cus I’m not the same as I was
As I shoulder the weight of the world
And I watched the water unfold
it’s a feeling I want you know
’Cus I’m not the same as I was
As I shoulder the weight of the world

This is the only true collaboration on the album, and it came about because I’ve always loved TEED’s music. When we got into the studio to write and record, he started telling me how much he loved ‘Sea of Voices’ from my last album, Worlds, and how he wished he’d written it, so I started sketching a soundscape that evoked it a little bit. Then, to make the song a good fit for Nurture, we decided to have him sing on it—actually we sort of sing together. It was a whirlwind. For a while, I had this song early on in the tracklist because it presented some variety, but as I kept working on it, I was like, ‘No, this is an end-of-album moment. If I’m going to have this epic wall-of-sound thing, it needs to come towards the end.’
