On a summer night, unable to sleep, I sneak out of my house for a bit.
I head on downhill, playing with something on my tongue.
Village Vanguard, subculture bands, and LINE groupies laughing like idiots;
I play with the same toys as city girls, but…

Ahh… I’m such a troublesome girl;
I can see a “black rainbow” stretching across the sky in this city…
And I feel so bored I could just die!

I like this city well enough – it’s not like there’s anything making it hard to live in,
But I think I could do without ever seeing that bananafish by the beach again.
Once this drug wears off,
All that’s left is a day where nothing happens…
I may as well send everyone a pic of the sunrise.

Our real-life comic, loved so dearly by us,
Depicts us with both our hands constantly full – a story of endlessly grasping and letting go.
But the real me isn’t holding anything at all,
Allowing me to freely grasp, and let go, of those comics and songs.

Ahh… the me of tomorrow is standing there in a white robe…
Ahh… that guy’ll probably give up on being a beautician…
That’s right – come on back and get sucked up in the current!

I mean, like him well enough – he’s a pretty nice guy and we have some common interests…
Ahh, but you know… I don’t think I can. Why can’t I stop feeling so unfulfilled?
Once this drug wears off,
There’s nothing to do but keep walking this road…
And 5 hours later I’m back at school.

I was listening to old songs by the beach… but I still just can’t dispel this scenery;
I really can see it after all: that “black rainbow” and bananafish are both right here!
I really might as well go home… ’cause I’m gonna be swept away at this rate!
Every so often I get really afraid,
Then try to forget about it;
It’s happened so many times I feel like I might go insane!

Una nit d’estiu, sense poder dormir, m’esquitllo de casa una estoneta.
Davallava pel pendís, tot jugant amb una cosa a la llengua.

Jugo amb les mateixes joguines que les nenes de ciutat, però…

Ahh… només que porto problemes;
Veig un “arc iris negre” estenent-se pel cel d’aquesta ciutat…
I estic tan avorrida que em podria morir!

Ja m’agrada prou aquesta ciutat – tampoc hi ha res que faci difícil de viure-hi,
Però crec que podria passar sense veure mai més aquell peix banana a la platja.
Així que em passi l’efecte d’aquesta droga,
L’únic que quedarà serà un dia en què no passa res…
Potser que enviï a tothom una foto del sol ixent.

El nostre còmic de la vida real, el que tant ens estimem,
Ens representa amb tots dues mans constantment plenes – una història incessant d’agafar i deixar anar.
Però el meu jo real no reté res de res,
Em permet així agafar i deixar anar lliurement aquells còmics i cançons.

Ahh… el jo de demà és allí dempeus vestint de blanc…
Ahh… aquell paio segurament deixi córrer allò de ser esteticista…
Això mateix – torna aquí i deixa’t xuclar pel corrent!

O sigui, ell ja m’agrada prou – és un bon paio i tenim alguns interessos comuns…
Ahh, però, saps… no crec que pugui. Per què no puc deixar de sentir-me tan insatisfeta?
Així que em passi l’efecte d’aquesta droga,
No em quedarà altre que continuar caminant per aquest sender…
I cinc hores després torno a ser a l’escola.

Escoltava cançons antigues a la platja… però ni així puc dissipar aquest paisatge;
Realment el veig al capdavall: aquell “arc iris negre” i el peix banana són tots dos aquí mateix!
Realment potser que me’n vagi a casa… perquè a aquest pas m’arrossegarà!
Adesiara m’espanto de debò,
Llavors provo d’oblidar-me’n;
M’ha passat tantes vegades que em sembla que em tornaré boja!
Així que em passi l’efecte d’aquesta droga,
Potser hauria d’explicar-li tot plegat –
Em pregunto què pensarà d’aquest sol ixent… oh

Una noche de verano, sin poder dormir, me escabullo de casa un ratito.
Bajo por la ladera, jugando con algo en la lengua.

Juego con los mismos juguetes que las niñas de ciudad, pero…

Ahh… no traigo más que problemas;
Veo un “arcoíris negro” que se expande por el cielo de esta ciudad…
¡Y estoy tan aburrida que me podría morir!

Ya me gusta bastante esta ciudad – tampoco es que haya nada por lo que se haga duro vivir en ella,
Pero creo que podría pasar sin volver a ver jamás ese pez banana en la playa.
Así que se me pase el efecto de esta droga,
Lo único que quedará es un día en el que no pasa nada…
Casi que les envíe a todos una foto del amanecer.

Nuestro cómic de la vida real, el que tanto amamos,
Nos representa con las manos constantemente llenas – una historia incesante de tomar y soltar.
Pero mi yo real no asga nada de nada,
Lo que me permite tomar y soltar con libertad esos cómics y canciones.

Ahh… mi yo de mañana está ahí de pie vistiendo de blanco…
Ahh… ese tipo seguramente dejará estar lo de ser esteticista…
Eso es – ¡vuelve aquí y que se te trague la corriente!

O sea, él ya me gusta bastante – es un buen tipo y tenemos algunos intereses comunes…
Ahh, pero, sabes… creo que no puedo. ¿Por qué no puedo dejar de sentirme tan insatisfecha?
Así que se me pase el efecto de esta droga,
No me quedará otra que seguir caminando por esta senda…
Y cinco horas más tarde estoy de vuelta a la escuela.

Escuchaba canciones antiguas en la playa… pero ni así puedo disipar este paisaje;
Realmente lo veo después de todo: ¡ese “arcoíris negro” y el pez banana están ambos aquí mismo!
Realmente casi que me vaya a casa… ¡que a este paso me va a arrastrar!
A menudo me asusto de veras,
