Just because there’s dancing, you’re ready to leave,
But I’m not quite convinced.
You start debating happiness,
And I just end up questioning what’s “right”.
You’re chewing your gum with attitude,
And I’m thinking that’s pretty cool, too.
So I took the emotions seen through this telescope,
And packed them all into a storage locker!
I don’t know of danceless nights,
And I don’t care for nights without dance!
I don’t know of danceless nights,
And I don’t care for nights without dance!
Nights I don’t care for mean nothing to me,
But a night without danceless nights,
Is just so terribly boring!
Taking action by thought alone,
I’m sure even the music will dance at night.
It’s like dancing inside a closet,
But I’m thinking this might just be our chance:
As the castanets go tap-tap,
Ta-ta-ta-tap ta-tap-tap ta-tap tap!
There’s no one here in this world,
Who doesn’t know of danceless nights!
I don’t know of danceless nights,
And I don’t care for nights without dance!
I don’t know of danceless nights,
And I don’t care for nights without dance!
Nights I don’t care for mean nothing to me,
But a night without danceless nights,
Is just so terribly boring!
It’s always waiting; the dance hall is waiting.
It changes and changes; even scratched and beaten, it’s waiting.
C’mon! I’m dancing, in a future full of dance halls,
And the one to weave its colors with their life force is you… it’s you…
“Dance is waiting with a smile on its face”!
I don’t know of danceless nights,
And I don’t care for nights without dance!
I don’t know of danceless nights,
And I don’t care for nights without dance!
Nights I don’t care for mean nothing to me,
But a night without danceless nights…
I want to know of dance-seeking nights,
And I want to care for nights we seek dance!
I want to know of dance-seeking nights,
And I don’t care for nights without dance!
Nights I don’t care for mean nothing to me,
And crying on nights I wish to dance,
Is just so terribly boring!
The nights we seek dance are precious –
So very, very, very precious!
