After spending a lifetime staring at a sky so empty that it’s practically blank space,
Everything eventually ceased to matter, especially my insignificant worries;
The sky of the city in which I was born… and live…

If I were to say the things I’m worried about, there’d be no end, and I know that;
If I’ve depressed myself by thinking of pointless things, I only need to smile when tomorrow comes.
These are my feelings as I walk slowly down the path home.

Even if I quarrel and fuss with the pointy edges of my daily life,
This city has drank of it all deeply; no matter whether I laugh or cry, up in the sky above…

The consistently red sunset tells me that the future is uncertain.
In this city, through which we’ve grown so accustomed to walking, we wander like children,
Looking for a guide to tomorrow.
I wonder how much longer I can go on believing from here on out;
I become uneasy whenever the wind suddenly stops.
I’m living in this city.

Under the curtain of night, the last JR train whisked you away.
Our feelings weren’t just us running away, or being sympathetic;
No matter what happens… I’m your ally… your friend.

Any of the darkness that lies ahead, like becoming lost or learning to hate everything,
You’ve shredded to pieces. Is there a single thing you could still wish for?

The red sunset back then entrusted us with an uncertain future.
The dreams we swore to, as well as our ideals, are nothing more than junk now,
As they rust within the flow of time.
Even so, I still want to believe that nothing has come to an end;
I pretend that I’m unconcerned and grow stronger with the passing days.
I’m living in this city.

Spring. Summer. Autumn. Winter. The scenery of the city changes, and there’s you and I struggling within it.
There’s hope, slander, ideals, and self-derision… and battling with them are our suspecting hearts… our selves.

Within the consistently red sunset, the shadows of you setting off on a journey,
Lay themselves long and narrow down the streets you’ve grown accustomed to walking;
They stretch as if drawing a guide to tomorrow.
I wonder how much longer I’ll walk on, worrying, from here on out.
But I’m okay with that… I’ll take hold of both hope and suffering.
I’m living in this city.
I’ll go on living here… from here on out.

Dopo aver passato al mia esistenza a fissare un cielo così sgombro da sembrare quasi uno spazio vuoto,
Alla fine tutto smise di avere una ragione, specialmente le mie preoccupazioni insignificanti;
Il cielo della città nella quale sono nato… e ho vissuto…

Se dovessi dire tutte le cose per le quali sono preoccupato, non ci sarebbe fine, e lo so;
Se mi sono depresso pensando a cosa senza senso, ho solo bisogno di sorridere quando il domani arriverà.
Questi sono i miei sentimenti mentre cammino lentamente lungo la strada di casa.

Anche se litigo e reclamo con i bordi appuntiti della mia vita quotidiana,
Questa città ne ha bevuto profondamente; non importa che io rida o pianga, nel cielo lassù…

Il consistente tramonto rosso mi dice che il futuro è incerto.
In questa città, in cui ci siamo abituati così tanto a camminare, vaghiamo come bambini,
Cercando una guida per il domani.
Mi chiedo quanto ancora possa continuare a credere d’ora in poi;
Divento inquieto ogni volta che il vento si ferma all’improvviso.
Sto vivendo in questa città

Sotto la coltre della notte, l’ultimo treno Japan Rail ti ha portata via.
I nostri sentimenti non riguardavano solo lo scappare via, o l’essere comprensivi;
Non importa cosa accada… io sono tuo alleato… tuo amico.

Qualsiasi sia l’oscurità che ti sta aspettando, come il perdersi o arrivare ad odiare tutto,
Sei caduta a pezzi. C’è anche solo una singola cosa che puoi ancora desiderare?

Il consistente tramonto rosso ci affida un futuro incerto.
I sogni ai quali avevamo prestato giuramento, così come ai nostri ideali, non sono altro che cianfrusaglie ora,
Mentre arrugginiscono nello scorrere del tempo.
Ciò nonostante, voglio ancora credere che nulla sia giunto al termine;
Fingo di non essere preoccupato e divento più forte con il passare dei giorni.
Sto vivendo in questa città.

Primavera. Estate. Autunno. Inverno. Lo scenario della città cambia, così come me e te in difficoltà con esso.
C’è speranza, diffamazione, ideali, e autoironia… e a combattere contro di loro ci sono i nostri cuori sospettosi… noi stessi.

Nel consistente tramonto rosso, l’ombra di te che ti metti in viaggio,
Si posa lunga e stretta per le strade nelle quali ti eri abituata a camminare;
Si allunga come se stesse disegnando una guida per il domani.
Mi chiedo per quanto ancora camminerò, preoccupandomi, d’ora in poi.
Ma mi sta bene… Terrò la presa sia della speranza che della sofferenza.
Sto vivendo in questa città.
Continuerò a vivere qui… d’ora in poi.
